Heritage Prairie Farm is located in La Fox, IL at 2N308 Brundige Road, a century-old rustic farm lane located in Campton Township stretching 1 1/2 miles. It was once described in a 2005 Chicago Tribune article as “laden with rural character”. The same could be said for HPF.
Fresh produce and goods are available from local vendors with a wide choice of in-season vegetables. Inside of a small chic farm shed they sell organic-type items: poultry, cheeses, preserves, bakery, and varieties of infused honey with the Bron’s Bee Co. label. We were there on a mid-Saturday and tasted food from a food vendor called Chuck’s Wood Fired Artisan Pizza (Limited hours, check first, menu there as well) which was hot and fresh. HPF also rents out a huge tent for events. Rental includes the ambience with gardens, candles, food, and the background of old barns, lots of cornfield scenery along with some animals (donkeys)
Cool website with all the info. Bought some honey and cheese. Seemed like the thing to do.
