Here is a recent collection of the latest unique embellishments seen around the Chicago area--some serious, some silly, some DIY projects if you can figure it out on your own.
| Dried vines, peeling paint door = flea market chic. |
These are feet, of course, but fill with cement and they become steppers for your garden,
or hang them "as is" on the wall for conversation pieces,
or fill with Jello--endless uses for metal feet. |
If you have an electric outlet near your tree
these would look sweet hanging from a branch. |
Animal (or any other object, person, etc.) topiary.
Haven't tried because the pot kid (see below) I crafted was more work than I bargained for. |
Paint an old string instrument and hang dead vines around it.
Inside-outside decorating idea. |
| Another topiary seen at Chicago Botanic Garden |
| Geneva, IL side street near Third Street |
| Hanging framed planter at Artemisia in Geneva, IL |
| Trying to make it "fit" in. |
