I took tons of pictures on this garden walk so I'll add a few on upcoming posts as well. 

Despite the intense summer heat and extreme drought conditions these cream-of-the-crop gardens fared exceptionally well. Lack of rain did not appear to deter these gardeners as healthy plants thrived; whether obviously aided with hired help for a few, others must have patiently hand watered day and night in order to ready their gardens for discerning eyes. 

The first garden we visited seemed to have something for everyone and the results of these homeowners' creativity and exemplary handiwork were the most impressive compared to the four gardens we hit afterwards. Fenced-in vegetable garden area, shed, 20 x 25 ft. water garden and a 25-foot stream leading to a pondless waterfall, arbors to die for, surprising whimsy touches tucked in, gazebo, flagstone pathways, brick patio, and a well-furnished year-round campfire pit. Need more room for plants? Start using pots of all sizes for more plants
and mini water gardens

Add some whimsy. Include rocks along edges.
