Here are some pictures with some additional comments.
Below is a garden that featured large mass plantings with attractive types of grasses. The color scheme was orange, purple, yellow. And that's it--no other colors! A couple areas looked like very recent additions as you can tell by the huge amount of space in between.
This 4-acre garden on White Oak Lane in St. Charles was on the garden walk four years ago. It takes time to walk around 4 acres of garden. There were some new additions and it was delightful to stroll amongst this pleasant environment. It's not, however, hands-on owner-planted and cared for. The garden colors have been decided--all pinks and purples by the head of the household. But the hired help does the rest.

Railroad Garden. This garden goes to the head of the class in my book. With 24 locomotives and over 100 train cars, it could run ten separate trains at the same time and I didn't count, but there were a lot whizzing by in a layout that depicted a run from the east coast to the west coast passing plants, a Koi pond and two villages to match the scale of the layout.
