Like any award-winning botanical garden, the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, Wisconsin has it all. The best part of this garden is that when you get home you can visit its web-site or blog, and find all the things you missed the first time around. And we missed a lot so that gives me an excuse for getting back there to see more. I could go on and on about what's so cool about it and why it's worth the gas to make a visit, but what I found is that it also has one of the best gallery of pictures and accounting of day-to-day activities on it's own blog, something that many other public garden websites lack. Make sure you go to its site before you start out and check it out after you go as well.
This is an apple tree. In fact, a person on the second floor can open up the window and pick the fruit right off the branch.
This is a handy trellis for any climbing plant. Here it's squash. My squash has creeped out to the grass where we have to mow around it!
Painted culvert planters. See how to do this DIY project here.
Arch is from the main entrance of the Parker Pen Company which was started in 1888 in Janesville.
Such a happy place!
My favorite rebar edging.
Serendity! Japanese garden.
Chairs overlook lake.
